AVW Controls Ltd - Press Release - January 2005
O Fantasma da Ópera - São Paulo
Phantom of the Opera, the worlds most successful musical ever is being staged in São Paulo, Brazil and once again AVW have been tasked to carry out the stage automation. AVW's association with the Phantom goes right back to the original production in London, where AVW's managing director, Anton Woodward was responsible for the service, repair and updating of the original  automation system and AVW's John McBryde was the Chief Electrician there for many years. In addition, Anton designed and built the automation systems for Phantom of the Opera in Holland, Switzerland and more recently in Spain.
Working alongside Delstar Engineering, AVW will be re-using the equipment built for the Spanish production of Phantom of the Opera and fitting it in its new home in São Paulo. The Brazilian production will be an exact copy of all the other Phantom productions and as such much of the automation programming in AVW's award winning  Impressario system will transfer to the new venue with little change.

With the worldwide release of the film version of Phantom of the Opera encouraging new audiences to see the stage version, the new Brazilian production looks set for a phantastic run!
