The load figure should include the load
of the bar or self-weight of the lift.
The speed figure is the top speed
required.
The efficiency percentage should be
the efficiency of the whole mechanical system.
As a rule of thumb:
For bevel gearboxes reduce efficiency
by 10% for each spur.
For worm gear boxes use the ratio as
the reduction percentage, i.e. a ratio of 60:1 has an
efficiency of 40%.
