Anton Woodward

Managing Director 

 

Anton was born in Sussex, England in 1964. On leaving school he joined the Royal Air Force and completed a three-year avionics apprenticeship and then spent four years working with the complex air-to-air missile control system on Phantom F4 fighter aircraft. He left the RAF in 1988 and began his stage automation career working on major stage productions such as Phantom of the Opera and Starlight Express and major arts venue projects such as the Edinburgh Festival Theatre and the Bayan Palace in Kuwait. 

He founded AVW Controls in 1996, and has worked on more successful projects as well as developing the award winning Impressario motion control system and award-winning Pegasus Power Flying system. He lives in Suffolk, England with his wife Sharon and their three children. 

He is a member of the The Institution of Engineering and Technology, The Institute of Measurement and Control, a council member of the Association of British Theatre Technicians and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. He is also a Round Tabler, School Governor and enjoys playing guitar.

John McBryde

Project Manager

Born in Chichester in 1959, John was the Chief Electrician at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London’s Haymarket for many years working on productions such as Phantom of the Opera and West Side Story, as well as numerous Sunday shows. As a project manager at AVW Controls, John is responsible for organising and ensuring the smooth running of the diverse range of AVW projects.

Steven Snow

Project Manager

 

Steve joined us originally as an apprentice electrical engineer and is now the workshop project manager. He has worked on a range of projects with AVW. He is a good all rounder and has particular strengths in IT.
