AVW provides training that helps clients, technicians and students build confidence in the operation, understanding and safe use of stage automation systems.
We offer training on our control systems for clients, as well as classroom sessions for theatre schools covering stage automation more broadly.
Control system training for clients
As you would expect, we provide training on the control systems we supply. Sessions are designed to help operators and technical staff use installed systems confidently, efficiently and safely in real production environments.
Typical training areas
-
- System overview and operating principles
- Day-to-day operation and show workflows
- Safe use and good working practice
- Cue handling and practical operation
- Fault awareness and basic troubleshooting
- Refresher training for new or returning operators
Designed around your installation
Training can be adapted to suit the venue, the production environment and the experience level of the team. The aim is always the same: to give users a clear understanding of how the system works and how to operate it with confidence.
Classroom sessions for theatre schools
In addition to client training, AVW delivers classroom sessions for theatre schools and training organisations on stage automation more generally.
These sessions are intended to give students a practical and realistic understanding of how automation is used in performance, and how engineering, control, safety and backstage practice all work together.
Topics can include
-
- What stage automation is and where it is used
- How automated movement supports live performance
- Control systems and operator responsibilities
- Safety, supervision and communication
- The relationship between creative and technical teams
- Real-world examples from theatre and live events
Experience with theatre education
